Some hearty BHM souls braved the cold on December 7 to participate in the annual planting of the seed which had been gathered throughout the season.  This year the planting was on a Fenn which fortunately was frozen.  Blue Heron Ministries in conjunction with Acres Land Trust planted seed at 2.5 acres at the Beechwood Preserve site.  Folks of all ages participated and truly enjoyed the wonderful experience and opportunity to give back in order to help preserve some precious land.  After the planting everyone was invited to Wing Haven to warm up and enjoy some refreshment and fellowship.  Some pictures below give an idea of the property and folks involved.  As always, a few pictures appear on the first page and more can be seen in the archives of December.

The annual Thanksgiving Breakfast for volunteers was held at the Presbyterian Church this year.  Over 20 folks gathered to enjoy a wonderful breakfast and many more had volunteered at some point during the season to gather seeds and work on other projects.  Nate noted that we had accumulated over 850 volunteer hours already and we still have the December planting ahead of us.  It was a blessed celebration for us all.  Amy Simons played three Hymns on the flute and it was amazing.  Nate thanked all of the volunteers and shared how much it meant to him to have such a giving group of folks.  The following are some pictures of the morning.  There are several pictures so you will need to go to the November archive to see them all.
